Default England Ladies National-Grafham 27/08/06

A big congratulations to all the ladies whom qualified yesterday at Grafham for the National team.

Wendy Miller won it well with 8 fish by 2.22pm and my wife Martha qualified also with 5 fish for 11lb 7oz. Obviously am incredibly proud of her achievement.

Also, having moved on from the England youth team, David Hodgson's 17 year old daughter, Scarlett qualified at her first attempt with three fish for 6lb 4oz. A chip off the old block eh! Well done to both of you.

In all, 22 anglers caught 72 fish, a decent rod average of 2.96 considering the blustery conditions.

Good luck at the International next years girls! Hopefully three gold medals in a row!

Tightlines

I don't think husbands and partners are allowed to be boatmen Nick, mind you I've never asked though.

In fact, several of us from Completefisher went out, Chris, Mike (Gillaroo), PLG, Jim Doyle (Magicone), Bigwull, Lyndsey (Simmo), Jim (3lbGrayling), Tim (Muddy), Paul and moi. Everybody caught fish, some more than others.

Best wishes and tightlines

Stewart,
Many congratulations to Martha on getting through to the (this is very difficult to type) England team. She wasn't using any of your lines by any chance.

Default England Ladies

Great to see the ladies enjoying their day out and congratulations to them all. Good luck with the forthcoming internationals.
Theres still one lady that they must all try to emulate though, Yorkshires own Ladies national rivers champion and 16th in the mens(open) national rivers championship.Gina Le Feaux.
Got to admit im a little biased as she fishes the same rivers as me

Well done to ALL lady anglers your all beautiful.

Are they the same Ladies English that fish in Ireland around the start of September ?
I do remember a season or two back I was on the lake for a few days during the ladies internationals and the English team won despite the flat calm conditions.
