Learn how to fly fish like the Norwegians!
A new fly fishing course has been created on the banks of the Orkla, Norway, by ex Liverpool football star Vegard Heggem. The course focuses on the Nordic style of fly fishing for salmon.
The way that Scandinavians 'go about their business' in salmon rivers has been written about in several articles in fly fishing magazines in recent years. Why is it that Scandinavians tend to catch more salmon than other fishers?
Justin McCarthy, fishing manager at the Atlantic Salmon Reserve on the Kola peninsula, has been quoted saying: "If there was anything like a World Championship in salmon fly fishing, no doubt the Scandinavians would win."
Aunan lodge now invites fishers to learn more about the secrets of the Nordic style of fly fishing for salmon. During week 32 (Sun 2 - Sun 9 August) Dr Øystein Aas and Mr Stener Skogmo, both highly respected Scandinavian salmon fly fishers, will share their knowledge and experience with fishers that are keen to catch more salmon.
