Congratulations on such a fantastic rod. I have been using more expensive brands (you know which ones) all my life - no more!!!!! You have shown me the light, and no longer will I be wasting my money on rods that are twice the price! Well done, again!

I am brand new to fishing but have been lucky enough to fish the River Test down in Hampshire. This rod was recommended to me by the keeper on the beat I fish and I have not looked back since. How you can sell these superb rods at this price when everyone else charges astronomical prices is beyond me. You have won yourselves 1 new happy customer. Superb!
I love these rods and my friends too. We are all using them now on our fishing trips and we love them. Please bring out more products :)
What struck me first of all when I took the 10' 0" 6# rod we received out of its handsome and protective cordura tube carry case and rod sock was the overall quality look of the rod. The colour described as olive/gold is quite pleasing to my eye anyway and the cork used for the handle is very good quality with little filler needed. The reel seat also has a nice wooden spacer which also adds to the good first impression. There is a fly keeper ring but no section alignment markings.
If you did not look at the name then you could easily expect this rod to be in the 3 figure range easily and Flextec do quote a RRP of £249 but as with the rest of their tackle, they actually retail these rods for a much lower price - in this case from £59.99 to £79.99. The range covers a 6' 6" 3# all the way up to this 10' 0" 6# giving you 12 options inbetween those extremes to choose from.
Out on the casting pond the rod responded very well as you might expect based on the quality of Flextec's other fly rod offerings. Unfortunately due to the bad weather recently the rod did not get to see any real action but I will happily look forward to giving it a proper try-out in the spring.
Backed with a worldwide warranty (make sure you register within 14 days!) and free shipping, it is hard to fault the value here. If you are looking for an affordable river fishing rod then the Streamtec is definitely worth a try.
