Default Bloke XLSG Blank

hello,
i was thinking about building up one of these blanks:

Bloke XLSG Fibreglass fly rod blank 6' 6" 3-piece 3wt. Hot 0range | eBay

i wondered if anyone had already waved one around. seems pretty good value for money. any more info on bloke rods in general would be good. their website seems like its not been updated since they bought out these blanks.
cheers all.

I have not been able to find a huge amount of fly rod blanks for sale in this country. H and H or guides and blanks sell some...At a cost.. I have heard people say good things about the longer heavier bloke blanks but don't know of anyone with a shortie. There are some knowledgeable folks on here though, so someone with an idea should stumble past

If you can stray from fibreglass, I have built a 10ft #4 from this chap's blanks. I am impressed with the vfm so far; haven't landed any tarpon or anything, but it casts nicely enough and is quite steely for the weight.
You are welcome to come and have a waggle if in the Manchester area.
Here is a link to a blank closer to your spec:

Might be worth getting hold of the December issue of Flyfishing & Flytying mag as they reviewed the 2# version. If you do go ahead and build on this blank would love to hear how you get on as I'm currently holding out on the release of MHX glass blanks but might be swerved to a Bloke depending on feedback

I can second these blanks, having built the above and the 8' 6" #4.

Love my glass fly rods - have several a Diamondglass, two Vision Cult Fibers and four Hardy Glass in 5' to 8'.

If I didn't have these, I would take a punt on these for small river fishing, but I only have two arms and 7 glass rods already.....

If you have time to spare give the Bloke bloke a bell, he appears to put his number on all his eBay adverts and he will talk your ear off. But he will answer any queries that you may have.

And ask him to recommend a matching Vosseler reel...

Just finished 2 rods from Bloke XLSG blanks 3wt 6'6' 3 piece.
One is burgundy with navy blue and black wrappings, another is white with
red wrappings. Happy with both rods.
I went with 7 guides plus tip rather than 8 marked on blank. It just worked better for me.
I use e-glass 5'9" CGR Cabela's fiberglass on small creeks here and that is a nice soft and slow rod. Build for presentation and not for speed.
XLSG is faster, much faster. When I received the blank I thought it was way too stiff for fiberglass. Now when its completed it is more of a medium, mid flex
action. It should handle small nymph under dry fly without any worries.
I'll include some photos one I work out how to do it.
