Default River Teifi Massive Slurry Pollution

The river Teifi is currently experiencing a very serious Category 1 slurry pollution incident.

This is some 20 miles downstream of the incident not far from the source of the river. The river should be gin clear.

Farming continues to crucify our rivers.

There was a recent slurry incident on the Sussex Ouse caused by a local agricultural college. A large number of dead fish were found including a 13lb sea trout. Awful!

These preventable tragedies make my blood boil, here in Cumbria the Eden is constantly threatened by these events.
Massive amounts of slurry are spread over the land all the way along the Eden valley with far too much running off into the river.
I and many other anglers are regularly reporting a couple of farms with photographic evidence, but to get anyone in authority to inspect the situation is hopeless, so frustrating at times.
These wonderful rivers like the Teifi are the arteries of the country, yet we treat them like sewage pipes, it's a blasted disgrace.
Some of the tales I hear from contractors working on these farms would make your hair stand on end, releasing raw slurry into the river overnight during high water, is one, removing hundreds of tons from the river bed to build foundations for new buildings, done during darkness with immense machines fitted with flood lights is another.
Enormous lagoons overflowing with slurry just waiting for a flood to take millions of gallons of the stuff direct into the river.
I've tried, along with many others for years to put a stop to it, but it is becoming an impossible task, no one really cares but the anglers.
Farmers keep enlarging their herds to make more money, get bigger subsidies, and it's obvious the system is at breaking point, yet it goes on and on.
It's sad times I'm afraid, I was very proud of my river as a young fella, it was stuffed with fish, but this constant erosion has now reduced it to a mere shadow of its former self, and I honestly can't see it ending.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but my heart tells me I'm not.

We're currently looking at several thousand dead fish and ten miles plus of river wiped out.

Its a dam disgrace, I hope you take your footage to the people at the top, no point in trying at local level as these people usually have a way with the local officials, over here its the brown envelope that puts a halt to everything.
i wonder if anglers were poisoning and killing the farmers cattle would it go unnoticed.

Sad times

This kind of thing makes my blood boil - I hope the punishment is harsh , very harsh.
For too long now , Farmers think that they can do what they like with the countryside.
How spreading massive amounts of SH1T ( Slurry is too nice a word ) on the land is deemed acceptable in this age is beyond me.
Sincere sympathies to the anglers who have been affected by this.
