Would that be because we dont yet have a type of net that can tell if it is a sea trout or a salmon???

Not being able to give food away seems highly unlikely, if you take into consideration that food is valuable.

Nets like Salmon farms are sadly, for the typical angler, here to stay, due to the ever increasing world population (7.5 billion and growing), and it's demand for aquaculture and agriculture.

Best regards
Jim

No I don't, I just got my wires crossed.
Humble apologies then - I was merely reacting to the other post. Perhaps it was ironic, and I missed it.
Very sorry.

Pointless fishing for them then, so why do they continue to kill the stocks?

Because they are salmon fishers and the sea trout were a bye catch,

Just to keep a bit of perspective here.Scotland is no white night in the Seatrout netting stakes..were at it as well I believe the east coast nets out from montrose(which have a 3year ban on taking Salmon).are being allowed to continue to net seatrout. As above I wonder how many Salmon Get trapped and die in the process. If My understanding of this is incorrect.please let me know.

Pertinent point, no net can discriminate so everything above a certain size dies.
