Re: Wye Discussion 2014

As usual, another list of fallacies from SF. As a member of the Midlands Region Fisheries Environment and Recreation Committee, when the Lave net question was discussed, I can tell you, you're...

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

It is possible that you are all right! Bullheads, stone loaches, eels and crayfish etc are available all year round whilst seat trout and salmon are there only part of the time. Overall an otters...

Re: Grayling near Worcester / droitwich

Re: Fishing the Monnow

Thanks for the feedback, it is very encouraging. Grayling have been in short supply on much of the Monnow for some years so it's good to hear that they are on the lower river again and in reasonable...

Re: Fishing the Monnow

Good question, don't know but if it is not good now it will never be! I saw quite a few grayling on the lower parts of the Dore earlier this autumn and there have been encouraging reports of grayling...

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

SF, congratulations, you get the prize for this year's most nonsensical post!

P.S. You were runner up too.

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

I wouldn't be surprised if a few more have gone through Osbaston since and more go though even later.

I don't think that anybody is surprised that the Monnow's salmon are late running, SB you...

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

The project was not driven by consumers, the benefits to them were incidental.

Clearly very little idea of what your talking about.

Did the consumer demand that or was it EU/Gov driven or...

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

On the wrong track again SF.

No response to my question though or have you not thought through your latest idea to pin the Wye's recovery on the consumer?

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

How does the consumer drive it in this instance?

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

I love it when the bees in SF's bonnet get so irritating that we get another tangential shift of "thinking"'. This time, for everybody's sake, can we lock away the shotguns......

SF, the consumer...

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

Of course there was match funding, in the form of volunteer time to fin clip the fish and find, develop and manage the ponds. That can count against the financial costs to the tax payer of running...

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

Consistency was never a strong point was it, SF? Last week you were quoting an exploitation rate of 5 or 6%, which would have given a run of over 20 salmon from the SNR project and the possible...

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

You are quire right to rank the dangers to salmon on the Wye. The danger from stocking is now removed - let's move on.

The dangers from angling or not fishing for salmon are there to be discussed...

Re: Wye Discussion 2014

Your continuing reference the Extinction Vortex theory to try and suggest that stocking should continue is not just missing the point, it's deliberately and dangerously disguising the point that you...
