    Default Floating Line

I have been fishing most of the winter with my clear intermediate. Today I deceided to use my floater. As soon as I started with the floating line my casting just went to hell. The fly was catching the line and I was continually tangling my leader. Changed back to the intermediate and all was well again.

    Confused.

Could it not just be different line profiles? One might, for example, have a longer belly than the other thereby effectively changing the amount of line you're able to hold outside the rod tip and your timing.

Slow your casting down with the floater as it will be slightly thicker.

    Michael,

Inters and sinkers tend to have a faster speed in the air, due to their reduced mass. Ever cast a DI8???

Keep the tension on the line and think smoooooooooth.

Thank you all. Will put 'slow' into practice at first chance.
