I'm not long back from a weekend's casting/fishing in Jersey. For once there was a consistent wind for the BFCC competition and a number of records were beaten:

Tracy (T and T) broke her existing #5 weight record with a cast of 121 feet, making her the first woman to cast a #5 over 40 yards at a BFCC event (there's probably only ~15 or so men who have ever done this). She also extended her #7 weight record to 128 ft 1 in and her Salmon overhead record to 156 ft 2in. This just goes to show what can be achieved with good tracking and smooth (but low) power - plus some tuition/practice obviously.

I managed to beat one of the records also, taking the Salmon overhead best to 204 ft. there's more to come there on the right day.

The last BFCC event of the year is in a few weeks time and promises to be a good one, there's some exceptional casters promising to turn up.

Hi - it's in Brentwood, Essex. It should have a good turn-out for the comps - Paul Arden is thinking about going, plus the usual top quality instructors.

Mmm... I thought it was Essex way, right around the M25 for me, so 4 hrs without traffic issues.... highly unlikely on the M25.
Shame, I doubt I can convince myself over 8 hrs driving is a good move
