Default British Fly Casting Club (BFCC)

The BFCC is a club that provides meetings around the UK to hold fly casting competitions to encourage people to challenge themselves and others to improve their casting skills in a fun and sociable atmosphere. They also provide excellent fly casting tuition at these meetings to cover a range of skills from beginners to the more experienced anglers.

Members receive free tuition, advice and competition entry at all the Meetings whereas non-members pay a small fee. See our website for details BFCC - Home Of Uk Fly Casting | The Friendly Home of Good Casting.

The next BFCC Meeting is at Alconbury Sports & Social Club, near Huntingdon on Saturday the 9th July 2016. Top instructors John Reynolds, Trevor Hayman and Sekhar Bahadur will be providing tuition all day, whilst other members will be running a competition with up to six events during the day.

If you are interested in attending, then either pm me, message us through FB https://www.facebook.com/The-British...ttings&qsefr=1 or through the website.

The BFCC event this Saturday at Alconbury is shaping up to be a great event with potentially a very good turn-out for the competition and some great instructors coming along. Plus Steve Parkes has organised food to keep us going throughout the day.
So if you're in the area then come along and join in

Just heard that Ian May, an AAPGAI master instructor, will be giving a demonstration on double handed fly casting at the Alconbury event tomorrow.

Plus Paul Arden will be competing, so we're in for some loooooong casts
And the 2016 Nobel prize for physics goes to J.R. Hartley, who'd have thought a fly fisherman could re-write so many accepted laws

Yep indeed - Paul broke the #5wt record with a cast of 134ft. Tracy also broke the women's #5wt record with a cast over 35yds.

That is some distance by Paul...... now you and Steve feel like the rest of us!
Any particular tips from him, or things that you noticed, or is it just that he does what the rest of us do....but better....

Yes, I need to grow half a foot and put on 5st of muscle (and maybe get a beard). 134ft is still very beatable though.
