Default 6 X #24 olive f-flies.

As in the title, just put a fiver in Fluffchucker's charity and there yours.

I've never tied F flies but have had a few off a couple of top tiers on here. No reason #24 shouldn't work but it's edging it. I'll have a punt.. Need details of charity of course....

All done. F-flies do seem to get a trout to hold on that extra mini-second to get the hook to set. But, lots of attention needed to get it up for the next take. It's a high-maintenance fly for sure.

I'm more yer toilet paper then blow gently up its ar@e kind of guy. I keep them for when it's tricky for some reason. It's a great catcher but needs more attention than most to keep afloat.

Ps: due to lack of hatch I search with dries. Something that floats without too much attention is more attractive initially.

Do you not like the cdc and elk? Bit of cdc just for effect, but the elk/deerhair keeps it afloat all day.

They induce great grabs but with many very small trout on my streams often fail to connect. In better times I've used this to filter out the smallies. What I tie now is 18/20. Elk is too course and Spring Roebuck, though tie-able, is wonderful camouflage from my vantage point... I have a real issue spotting it

Richfish supplied me with some great F-flies. Two left. Used a big-eye Orvis hook - worth a look for those of us that block the eye routinely.
