Default Scierra Pairs

I've heard that Scierra have layed off the majority/all their sales reps..(including Hywell Morgan) and as a result the Scierra Pairs matches are unlikely to go ahead this year (although this is not definate yet !)

Yes I know the comp. dates are published but that was when Hywell was running things....

Anyone know any more ??

Rob that is bad news the credit crunch is now coming to Angling,My own opinion is that a lot of fisheries could suffer this season as guys and gals draw the purse strings tighter,

Rob
That's a real shame - and not least for Hywel.
I fished the Pairs last year for the first time - a very undistinguished performance at Chew, but thoroughly enjoyed rubbing shoulders with some great anglers and the hard work of the Scierra team.
Let's hope it works out well for those involved.

Default Bad News

That's bad news indeed, m2mga and myself fished last year and thoroughly enjoyed the heat and the final. I knew Hywell had lost his job but wasn't aware it had affected the Pairs matches.
I've invited him to fish my match anyway so we'll get the latest then.

This is really sad. The Scierra Pairs is a great comp and Hywel is a top bloke. If anyone hears anymore please let us all know.

Fished the final, and Rutland, for the first time last year. Great format and friendly comp. Hywel is coming up to our fishing club next month for an evening of fishing stories and general all round hilarity with a pie and a pint for good measure.

Default scierra pairs

what a sad loss to the comp circuit this would be , it is/was the best fun event with a unique format , which was run by a great guy who made the day and final a happy friendly event . It also had the best goody bag ever !
lets hope scierra reconsider and continue with the compertition

There was rumours of this last year, where Hywell had left Scierra, and so forth affecting the Pairs event. Sounds like its the rumour mill again on the ever popular competiton scene.

Would be a sad loss as has been said on the competition circuit, I, like Hametied & B16ave, fished the final last year, where we had a laugh and shot the **** about allsorts...not to mention the awesome 'ebay' goodie bag.....!

FIngers crossed

Default Scierra Pairs Update....

The Scierra Pairs is still ON ! !

As ever the comp scene, is awash with rumours at this time of year !

So i decided to do the sensible thing and call Scierra direct, I managed to get through to speak to the MD and asked him..

He said that the match was being run this year !

(Unfortunantly Hywell and the other reps have been layed off)

Hi Rob,

Where did you originally here it?

Not being funny, but your original post would have only compounded the rumours

It's always best to pick up the phone and speak with someone direct, and at least that way we'd get as close to the truth as possible.

Sad to hear about Hywell, and the other staff.
