Default FIPS mouche rules

Hi all - does anyone have a link to fips mouche rules?

I can find event specific ones for past events but no standard or generic rules.

I ask as I'm fishing a comp (qualifier) this weekend to fips mouche rules & in the rules that I could find on the net it states that you can't fish the water 60 days prior to the event?

If this is the case then I'm already bugg@rd as I have fished the venue in the last 60 days (even tho the event wasn't advertised back then!)

I'm wondering if the "60 day rule" is for nationals/international's etc rather than low profile qualifiers?

Any advice?

That rule is for international competions, and the generic rules you are finding for competitions (internationals/world championships are current)
Pay particular attention to the section about flies, and their sizes, (gauges are sometimes issued prior to competition) as there are one or two misconceptions out there!

Thanks Bert - that's grand!
As an update I called the fishery that's holding the qualifier & spoke to the bailiff; as you suggest it's the fly/hook size element of the rules that's being used for the competition,

Hook gauge thingy looks a bit technical mind!!

Cheers,

JR

If it's a barbless event be really careful with pinching down barbs as the hook will be stuck into a cloth/felt patch by your controller and if they snag or pull fibres the fish will be disallowed and you may be disqualified.

Don't pinch use a file to remove barbs.

What comp is it? As far as I know only people who have made the world's team bang on about fips. Local uk fishing rules are far more relaxed and basic common sence! Which i prefer.

Sewinbasher - it's C&R so will deffo be a barbless comp

Icejohn - it's a regional teff qualifier (bank)

I'm guessing in reality it will be a mixture of fips & fishery rules - maybe a bit of common sense thrown in!!

If you PM me your email address I will send you a diagram of the measuring tool. I have fished a few WFFC/EFFC championships the last few years.
