    Aye - the home-bleached stuff. Quite pleased with the outcome. I'm finding that on 2-colour jobs, separate baths makes it much easier to judge the depth of each component.

    That's a great colour Col. I've been meaning to bleach some roe for ages, I sourced all the chemicals 'required' listed in A K Best's book Dyeing and Bleaching Natural Fly-Tying Materials but not got around to actually trying it. Reading your other thread it seems 'your' bleaching method may be a little more simple, it certainly seems to get fantastic results.

    Thanks for posting this, it's the inspiration/kick up the **** I need to try it for myself.

    Had a go at doing half a cock cape Orkney Peach. I reduced the Yellow even further, so I could control the timing a bit better. First bath: Jacquard Hot Fuchsia, 30 mg in 1 pint. Second bath: 25 mg EBEST yellow, in 1 pint.

    Here it is alongside a mix of Globrite floss in Nos. 7 and 8...


    And here it is, lights out, under a UV torch...
