Fished kennick last Wednesday 22nd May blowing a gale should have changed venue few fish caught conversation goes only about 6 between about 15 fishing started at 9am finished about 4.30pm drew a blank returns poor, getting flies out into deeper water a problem where the fish were because wind was so strong clampitts to Hawthorn Point was the area where the few that were caught to my knowledge.
Will try again when water temp improves and wind settles

I asked for some advice on this water when I joined this forum, but I didn't get a response. Anyway, I fished it at the end of March, and also Saturday past. I managed to catch on both visits. On Saturday I caught a lovely rainbow (about 3 lbs) on a home-tied green/black montana style fly, and also a smaller rainbow on a buzzer; both fish released. It's a lovely water on the edge of Dartmoor, and I fished from the bank, although there are boats available. As we have a holiday caravan nearby, I'll be visiting regularly. The only downside is it is in the middle of nowhere, and involves driving along scary narrow Devon roads!

Fond memories of Kennick. Lovely place.

You'll get used to the roads (after a few years).
