    Default Skipton Angling Club

We are a small club with waters around the Skipton area. We have a long stretch of the River Aire and two stillwaters.

The River Aire is a limestone stream and has abundant insect life, the Brown Trout and Grayling are possibly the fittest and heaviest length for length in any Yorkshire Dales river. Fish on the River Aire will respond to most methods with upstream dry fly or nymph taking most fish when fly fishing. Spiders as usual take their share but stealth and a careful approach are essential if you are to catch fish as often the water on the River Aire is cut glass clear.
Day ticket price of 6, all fish c+r.

Whinnygill reservoir. Whinny Gill is regarded as a mixed fishery, both coarse fish an trout are present in the water. For many years the water was stocked with nothing but rainbow and brown trout on a regular basis. In recent years though, this policy has changed as the habitat has changed and several coarse fish species have since been introduced.
Day ticket price of 8 all fish c+r.

Embsay reservoir. There is a good head of brown trout which are breeding well. We add rainbows before the season starts and more are put in at regular intervals. This year, to spice things up a little, tiger trout, blue trout and some huge rainbows and browns have been stocked.
Day ticket price 15 including 2 fish then c+r.

Membership to the club is available at very competitive rates with several options available.

Looks lovely Dave, what's the difference between an OAP and a senior?
    Just found it, sorry.

Men and fish are alike, they both get into trouble when they open their mouths.
