Back from a fishing meet with the Nomads on Barnsfold on a four hour ticket.

It was a very hard day's fishing without a bite or a pull. I tried half a dozen different methods of fly fishing without result. Some fish were caught by the Nomads but not many for the morning. There was cold wind and a ripply surface on both lakes. It was pleasant to be out for my first fishing
session of the New Year and I am now planning my next trip out.

Hard luck Alban, funny old place Barnsfold, somewhere I enjoy going but only once had a reasonable day with 5 or 6 fish, as you say you have got out and done a bit, hopefully next time you'll get a fish or two.

    Afternoon guys.
Unlucky Alban, but that's fishing and Barnsfold.
Another breezy day and a cold breeze at that.

Well done for getting out Alban.
Hope you enjoyed the BFFI Ged. I always spend too much when I go but I managed to do that on line instead.
If it stays fine for the next few days I may be able to get on the river. Not long left now for a few Pike

Some nice pike flies being tied at the BFFi SteveN. Also John Tyzack did a talk on fly fishing for pike.

Evening guys, hard luck Alban, BF can be a hit & miss sort of place, had a few blanks there myself.

On a brighter note the weather looks to be picking up this week & temperatures in double figures, I may get out!!.

    Thanks all for your encouragement.
Noel, both Elliott and I have the long distance lines Snowbee XS Plus Competition Long-Cast WF #8 CLC. Elliott can cast about 120 feet. Today with the wind advantage I was reaching 100feet. It didn't do me any good though.

Ged, was it worth going to the BFFI at Stafford today?
