They must be Alban, that's why there is so many sub Chadwick's wool about now and most use the new bright copper wire! They still catch.

I remember my first faltering effort at tying a Hare's Ear nymph it was a long way from perfect. My fly tying instructor, J Hartley from Colne, said, "The fish won't be able to tell the difference." I rushed to my local reservoir,Dean Clough, and caught my first trout on my own tying a wonderful feeling. It's very important with dry flies that the are tied to match a hatch and perfect in most details. Daddies that loose legs still catch because fish can't count or can they?

    Hard luck Alban,

Thought I was on for a blank today also, went back up to Errwood and like last week fish were topping but not really interested in what I was giving them, started on the washing line with db’s & buzzers, straight buzzers, shipmans, lures and back round again, hooked and lost 5, 2 at the net and thought it was going to be one of those days, with a hour to go I stuck a pitsford pea type lure on and landed one second cast, a couple more nips and that was it, still scratching my head about what they were taking.

    Morning guys.
Wet and windy out there this morning but still warm. Who mentioned the GT Harwood show?
Just been and checked the new shed, it hasn't rained since completion. Glad to say all looking dry, just waiting for gutter stops and feed ends so I can collect the rain in water butts.
Some loft duties and hopefully a bit of fly tying today.
