Ged are you saying if I pay IN FULL I will be paying more than if I chose to pay on the never never even interest free?

I'll have to look out for that. I was hoping to knock some off for Cash.

Since my car is not worth a lot I thought I would just use one a "we buy any car peoples" to get rid and in the hope a no trade in will also get somethig knocked off or am I dreaming?

    SteveN.
Most companies now want to sell cars via PCP (some will even come with 0% check deals), that's where you pay a deposit (some companies will pay this for you, check deals), then you pay X number of monthly instalments (36, 48, 60) then you give the car back and walk. You may have to pay an extra payment over whatever return agreed price subject to T & Cs though (millage/8,000 p.a or such, condition), you may have to factor in extra depreciation (market conditions) then it's depending on against $ or Euro. You will not get more money if the other way round. Or you could buy the car at agreed end price if you want to keep it.

Or, lookout for deals with 0% finance for H.P. Haggling is the way and don't discount free extras if they won't budge on the price, but check on price of extras.

Car dealers do have lea way on price (could be 20%), also some lea way on interest charges for H.P (2% and more). Be cheeky and also give them the silence and look.

Good grieve Ged what a hassle. Only want to do is buy a nice little reliable runner. No way am I buying new. I just want to buy it and keep it as long as I want. Not sure I would get finance anyway on my pension. I am sure my credit will be good though. I am off out to look at a couple of cars and I quiz them on sale etc.

That's all I want to do SteveN, just pay cash (and upfront, though in the past I took a 0% interest deal and left my money in the bank to get interest ).
Checkout carwow. Some of their deals are miles (distance wise not money) away but at least you get an idea of what to pay/good deal.

Been to Boundary Mill spending hard earned cash. I got a new coat, shirt, and pullover. Vanita got a new winter's coat. We had a nice lunch in Banny's Restaurant as well not a bad day all round.
