Been visiting. Dad is doing a bit better. Walking improving, arm improving. All positive and they are now talking about if he will manage at home. I am not sure as he cannot even make a cup of tea yet.
Got a pass for tomorrow. River good but like Ged said moderate wind????Do all things with love. ~ Og Mandino

Typical. Just when you think things are going in the right direction dad had a fall after we left. Banged his head. Had a CT scan but seems ok just shook up. My brother is with him now.

Re: What are the Lancsy Lads up to next? (Volume 2) 2018-
Evening folks I'm down to one property my old house has finally gone. I had two trips to the municipal tip with empty boxes. The car battery was dead this morning and I have had to invest in a new one. I treated the car to a clean as it looked like I'd been rallying. The tip road was responsible. An internal valet is next when all the rubbish has been disposed of. I've found my Hardy reel thank goodness and fly vice both mean a lot. The rest of my fly fishing and tying tackle is in a mess somewhere in the loft which looks like a hurricane has blown through.

I'll keep the mantle. Far too windy but I tried. Had 2 strikes but did not connect. Freezing down stream wind. Even if I got my fly where I wanted it it soon hot blown off course. Oh well. I did have the place to myself though. Not even any dog walkers.

Re: What are the Lancsy Lads up to next? (Volume 2) 2018-
Late afternoon guys.
Well done on giving it a go SteveN.
I had a completely different day to you, and to my two mates. Got in the river 11:10, stopped at 12:35 for lunch, back in the river 13:00, stopped 13:50, found one of my mates who had caught 2 grayling (ended with only the 2 but 6 browns). Left him 14:01 to look for second mate, no sign of him so fished again for 35 minutes before finding both mates and going back to the car. My second mate had also managed 2 grayling (no browns) and both were freezing.
I only got cold hands but with all the walking had warmed up nicely, it also helps to catch fish. Downside was too many browns, 10 of them. But, I managed 19 grayling.
The cold blustery upstream wind was main problem for me.

Hard luck Steve, you were right about the wind, very cold around Manchester today.
Well done Ged, I'm surprised the French leader worked today with the wind.
