Alban last year the SIL took me up the Scaur a tributary of the Nith where there are some proper waterfalls. Watching the salmon jump them was a magnificent sight!

Morning all , up earlier today but no thanks to this shoulder and arm, kept me awake most of the night.
Dry over here so I might just get some pruning done in the garden.

Morning all wonder of wonders its dry and sunny this morning I'm sure the people of Cumbria will be heaving a sigh of relief.

Earl, I've sat for hours at the Falls of Shin on the river Shin watching the salmon leap up an impossible waterfall it's a magnificent sight.

I'm suffering with my cold. I woke up this morning croaking like a frog. I'm venturing out to Tesco for supplies today but it will be straight back home after.

Just back from one of the estate lochs. Had the place to myself as usual. Fished from a boat. All morning I only had two to lures, despite trying various nymphs and squirmy wormys. After a peaceful lunch sat on a bench watching the leaves turn gold and fall from the trees, I tried again with a bit more success with another seven to lures. I had one of those days where I missed quite a few pulls and for every fish I landed I lost two before I could net them! All in all a total of nine in the boat. A lovely autumnal day, now having a coffee before I have to cut the grass!

Well done Earl.

I have enjoyed a birthday fishing day. Pike on the fly and lures. Got two early to the fly. Best fish on the fly and the day going 9lb 14oz. By lunchtime the with d got up and the sky went black. Retreated to the cafe and the heavens opened but I was inside all cosy.
Oh no electric in the cafe so no bacon bun for me.
Had a drink from my flask the ventured out with the lure rod. By now it was blowing hard. Had a good session on the lures. 6 more to the scores on the door.

Off out tonight for a birthday curry.
