    Dan,
First I have not caught a carp yet, so don't know for sure, but I would not like to go up against a double figure carp undergunned.
I have heard that a 7wt or above is ideal http://carp.net/article4.htm and I plan on using an 8wt when I try later in the year.
If you do try on a 6wt however let us know how you get on.
    cheers

You could use a 6 weight without too many problems, though it may be a little on the light side if the water is snaggy / weedy or if you expect to encounter large fish. It might pay to go up to a 7 or 8.

In hot weather its not a good idea to play any fish for longer than necessary.

    Rupe, I caught a 15lb carp on a greyflex m2 10ft 6/7wt.
    Long fight but good fun.

Yeah Rupe, what's the matter with your memory?
Both Matt & I were on 6# rods the other evening.

Here are a couple of fish, from the other night, that succumbed to 6# gear and 8lb tippet...

Cracking fish Chris... What technique did you use to catch it?

(i.e Chum mixers to get them going and then uses Bonio's)

Hi Steve, a few mixers to get them on the top and then a Black Booby

    Hope you're well

Nice one Chris. I quite like using those black boobies and they do seem to outfish the other colour versions.

The mouth on that fish looks pretty ragged Chris, is that just the pic?
