Default Floating line for saltwater, carp and pike?

Hi, I have just got a 9 weight rod and thinking of using it for pike, carp and salt water.

Can I use a single line or do I need different lines?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

For general use for pike and salt water I'd suggest an intermediate, for carp you'll want a floater.

The reason for the two is that for pike and salt water use you will generally want the ability to strip the fly back and avoid the impact of the line riding waves hence the intermediate to stop flies skating.

Floating: The Barrio Predator line would be perfect and great value. I've a couple of their floating lines so happy to recommend them.

Intermediate: I use a Rio Striper line which was pretty expensive. If you want better value then I know that the Airflo 40+ is popular.
