Default Book of Trout Llyns of Wales? ....

I'm reading Bruce Sandison's book 'The Trout Lochs of Scotland' at the moment and I love books like this, however outdated they may be.
Is there an equivalent book that covers Welsh waters at all, all my searches seem to suggest not....
If there isn't, maybe a few of us could get together and attempt to put something together? I can't be the only person that is striving to find out more about where is available to us trout anglers. ☺

That's the only one I came up with too Jeff, and I am going to purchase it after enjoying Bruce's book. We definitely could do with something upto date. Need to drain the fountains of knowledge on here and maybe a photographer that fancies a 'little' fishing journey or two

Now you're talking! It's about time the little unknown gems were rediscovered, so to speak.

Oh how I wish Moc Morgan was still with us....
If anyone can help with Wild Stillwaters anywhere in Wales, could you drop me a PM please? Any info welcome ( By Wild, anything but commercial trout waters, as there is abundant information on those. I would be interested in waters that wild stocks are supplemented by stocking, such as Lake Vyrnwy though)

Hi Rich,
you could try "fishing in wales" by walter gallichan.its an old book(1903 i think) but basically accurate inso far as the lakes that had decent fish then still have decent fish and the ones that had thousands of stunted fish still have them.(at least thats true in mid wales.and you can probably pick one up more cheaply than frank ward,s book which is also an excellent book.happy hunting

In N. Wales, all the lakes with any decent trout ie all but very small stunted specimens are linked to angling clubs eg Ogwen Valley, Seiont Gwyrfai Llyfni and Cambrian list their waters eg
waters
Just need to go to their sites to get details

I think that Paul Morgan of Coch y Bonddu books would be a good point of contact, he would obviously know about any books but also has good personal knowledge of trout llyns.

My first trips away were accompanied by a copy of Bruce's guide, mostly read in a tent at night with torchlight, there was a feeling of adventure and imminent discovery the next morning with it, a little pointer in a big wilderness.

I reckon you should crowd fund the writing of a Welsh guide, raise enough to spend a year or two trying every one
