Re: One Night in Bangkok - Fishing in Thailand
Hi,
Nice to see that other people are visiting Bangkok for the fishing. Went to the lakes 10years ago and had my arms pulled by the Mekong Catfish, went back last year and they are still the same, just like pulling donkeys in, at 4.00 in the afternoon I had had enough 15+fish, a must to do if you are in Bangkok.

I went there a couple of years back and caught more of those Giant Mekong Catfish than you could ever want to catch in a lifetime. Using stand up boat gear for them and they still give you the run around

LOL - when I did that they offered me a rod belt before we started which I of course laughed at. I was wearing it for the second fish and beyond!! A LOT of fun!

Re: One Night in Bangkok - Fishing in Thailand
For those who want to fly fish, try Kingfisher Lake, Greenfields Valley, Hua Hin.
The main species is the fantastic Barramundi, if you have never caught one of these you really, I mean really must put it on your bucket list.
The lake also has Arowana a fish best targetted with small dry flies and a 4lbs tippet, be careful they jump like seatrout on steroids.
Then there are the Giant and Cobra snakehead, a hit that will pull the rod out of your hand.
The great advantage of Hua Hin is that if you are on a family holiday tke the family to the Safari park and you will drive right past it.
"Oh look a fishing park, .."
Hope you find this helpful
