    Default Diver Dave waders

There are many good dealers one can do business with. What sorts the good from the excellent is when, for whatever reason, something goes wrong, and how it is dealt with.

Must say that Diver Dave has shown himself to be in the excellent category. Good bloke to deal with.

I have had 2 pairs of Simms waders 'repaired' by Diver Dave around 2 years apart from each other. Both pairs were unwearable again once repaired as there was that much glue used I couldn't slide my feet into them. Never again.

I would normally agree but before I sent the second pair up I specifically reminded him about the issues with the first pair and was promised that it wouldn't happen again.....and it did!

Ah, Aquasure Dave as he's known by many people. When my simms start letting in water, I think they'll be going back to simms for repair. I've heard far too many stories like this.

Have used DD once for a leaking pair of Vision Rapidor waders. Like @sagecirca's experience, my waders came back to me unusable due to so much glue on the inside.
If any of the DD fanboys want them, I will be happy to sell.

PS I have also used a different diving repair service, Gybe in Stalybridge, for a leaking pair of Orvis 'pro guide 3' waders. Gybe used glue but backed it with nylon tricot scrim (the same as the lining of breathable waders) which meant the waders were easy to put on: unfortunately they still had some leaks ... summer waders!

Thumbs down Re: Diver Dave waders

I sent a pair of Simms waders to have the neoprene feet replaced from another company , paid 22 pounds for shipping , 55 pounds for the alteration , after 6 outings on the river a small leak appeared on the heel , nightmare to repair as I need to remove the black cosmetic seam tape , to prolong the life of the waders I now have bought 2 pairs of Dex waterproof socks .

The Simms waders have had 3 years off constant hammer without issues other than the neoprene boot socks wearing out , never again ,will just buy a brand new pair off Simms waders . Same company I used Andrew . Summer waders too

I bought some waders from Diver Dave, lots of glue and they slide on perfectly well with no leaks after....three seasons now I think?
Maybe it's the material of your trousers? I wear craghopper walking trousers.

Dave repaired a pair of simms for me 3 years ago. Couldn't get them onto my feet due to the glue, but to get around that I shake some talc powder into the waders maybe every 3rd time I wear them and they slide on fine. I just assumed that's a drawback to wader repair as my waders were leaking in multiple places. It's not really an inconvenience and I only wear old clothes under my waders so don't mind a bit of powder on them. Plus I smell nice Diver Dave waders. Just an option perhaps!

    Cheers
