I took the plunge with one of these lines in the stillwater taper for my 10 foot 7 weight atomsix elemental, I must say it is a very good line. Airflo seem to have nailed it with this line. It is very straight and non stretchy (my preference) cast good and shoots very well with the low diameter running line. Top marks from me.

This line has a head length of 46 feet, so with a leader of say, 16 feet you need a clear space of at least 62 feet to make the back cast. Fine from a boat, but where do you fish that that allows this from the bank, which is when you need the distance.

Plenty of places that I fish have that much room for a back cast but also these lines load the rod so quickly that it's not necessary to aerialise the whole head. They are very good at all distances.

The post was about how these lines cast, it is up to the individual who will know the waters that they fish to decide whether these lines are suitable for them or not. There are plenty of alternatives if space to back cast is an issue including the excellent Airflo Superflo in Presentation taper.

Sounds interesting and worthy of further investigation maybe even a purchase! So they don't have ridged running line or ridges anywhere else on the line then? Good job if thats the case imho as that didn't really add much to the performance and collected dirt like no other line I've found; put me off 40+ in favour of rio outbounds for that reason alone.

    Tight lines

Smooth as the proverbial baby's bottom Richard. I hate ridged or textured lines.

Interesting thread and thanks, however after buying 2 lines of them a couple of years ago that had more coils than Zebedee off magic roundabout I'm still reluctant to give them anymore money for fly lines.

That said, I do like their fluorocarbon tippet lines

Give them a go Paul, I agree with your comments on their previous lines which were awful but these new ones are really good. Just be careful that if you buy the SuperDri Elite that they are new stock, obviously the Superflo's will be as they were only released a matter of weeks ago.

    Micro thin running line...?

Can't imagine where they got that idea from...
