I picked up a Barrio #8/9 switch only last week. Will report back when I've given it a fling. Great, fast service from Mike & co. as ever. I rather like the signed 'tight lines' notes he includes in every order - and the quality of his lines, of course!

I bought a Mallard WF6 in March and there were 3 bumps on the line, I sent Mike an email and he replaced straightaway no questions asked. I used the new line last weekend and I was impressed. Thanks for super service.

It cracked really badly after two seasons, that is the core was exposed by the annular cracks in the coating which caused it to sink, similar to a Cortland 444 in that respect although he 444 takes longer to get to that point of disrepair.

I've replaced it with a Rio Classic floater this season which I prefer although its bright yellow colour concerns me, I did like the tan finish on the Barrios.
I bought the same line earlier this year, put it on a reel and for various reasons it didn't get used for at least two months.
On first use, the line had a lot of memory, quite tight coils and I was disappointed.
However I gave it a gentle stretch at home and all that memory was lost.
Have used it since but not every week and it has been absolutely fine despite being stored on the reel.

Can't comment on longevity yet though, time will tell.

Been very happy with a 3wt Mallard I bought from Mike a few years ago and is still going strong. I needed to replace a few others so ordered three GT 90's around 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon along with some Moser Loops. Postman arrived with them just after lunch today along with a personalised note about the intermediates. Great service.

Looking forward to trying one of them, hopefully tomorrow, in persuit of a few Perch. Should be fun.
    Best Regards

    Peter

I finally got to cast my #8/9 Switch today (post #591) and it's very nice. No memory after 4 months on the spool and as supple as all other Barrio lines I've bought.

Just ordered a gt125 from barrio, never used the lines before but if the lines are anything like the customer service then I’m on to a winner.

Been having great fun with my Barrio Smallstream #3 just lately.
The first time I used it, I did have to give it a gentle stretch to get rid of some coils but since then it's been perfect.
Similarly pleased with a SLX #5

The swift delivery and excellent customer service seem to be a given as well. Superb!
