    Default Telephone Fly

    I have been asked to tie some of these but i don't have the dressing for it,Can anyone help with the dressing please?

    I don't know the dressing, but I'm pretty sure it is fairly similar to the Golden Olive Bumble?

    Yes it is similar i think it has either a red or and orange butt .

    Yup, that's what I was thinking. My mate has knocked a few up this year and used an orange butt. Nice pattern too. After telling me all about this incredible fly he had come across and describing it to me, he was devastated to see the rows of Golden Olive Bumbles and variations in my Irish box! They are very close!

    I'll be fishing Lough Conn in September for 5 days i hope the trip is as good as the last one.

    Sounds fantastic - even if it's not as good as your last trip! I would love to get out there again this year, but don't think it's gonna happen. I will start planning for a week next May instead I think. Wonderful place. Is that what you want the Telephone fly for?

    No i am tying an order for someone and they asked for a few Telephone flies,although i will probably use them on Conn .

    Hi Bear,
    Dressing for the telephone fly,
    Tail: G.P crest
    Butt: glo-brite no4
    Body: golden olive seals fur
    Body Hackle: red game and claret cock palmered
    Rib: gold wire or tinsel
    Wing: bronze mallard
    Head hackle: blue ginea fowl or grizzle dyed blue
    Above dressing taken from Bob church's guide to champions fly patterns!!
    Popular modern variations have lite brite/ice dub bodies with yellow and claret being popular!!
