Default Familiar Ingredients Combined in an Unusual Way (plus an intro to the sanctuary of the fly tying hut)

One of my most successful patterns on rivers around the world (including home streams of course).

Step by step here (plus my gumby-level DIY) and news of a trip to research, fish and film in Japan in a few days' time.

Tenkara flies are great-in general. I tie them and fish them. Glad to see yours tied. Nice SBS. What is the name of that fly?

Thanks
Rich

Hi flymaker - it is very similar to a pattern that Masami Sakakibara ties; only I substitute Gel spun polyester thread (Fish On UTS) in purple for what I think was brown regular tying thread.

I often also add a tiny dubbed head of purple shimmer dub - but either way it doesn't really have a name.

Most often it is just Paul's purple kebari or my kebari when folks ask!
