Default Hatching Olive

Click the image to open in full size.

Hatching Olive, taken from Hans Weilenmann’s YouTube video in a size 14.

Any help/ recommendations would be appreciated as usual.

Thanks for looking.

Apologies for the terrible photo, was trying to get a semi decent light and zoom in on the camera.

Looking like it will catch but suspect the dubbing body should have gone on before the wings.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the reply. I copied the video linked below he has the wings on first and slipped back presuming to mimic the hatching fly.

Thanks for clarifying that. I suspect you fly would look more like his with lighter dubbing via a finer noodle of dubbing on the thread and it also looks like you have just a bit too much wing. That is why it’s pinched and curled.
That is compared to HW and to be fair I am not sure I could do better than you have.

Yes I have used hares for the dubbing - he used an orange Artic Fox from memory.

Thanks for the advice on the wing though I will give that a try tonight.

Thanks
