Got them and as already said, a fine set of wee beasties to fool those wily wild trout. Thanks very much for such a splendiferous offering chaps! :-D

Thank god for that, I think yours were the last set to arrive.

Well my stalking fly swap has gone down like a lead balloon so we are going to need to think of something more popular for the sequel.

How about something as open as a fly for the ‘dog days of August’

...or material based, a fly using dubbing and hackle etc

Hell, I thought a "stalking fly for rivers or still waters" was pretty generic, I could come up with 20 or so without breaking a sweat.

As it is - zilch replies, the stalking fly is deceased, it is no more, it has shuffled off this moral coil.

I don’t disagree but I think people tend to think of stalking bugs as a niche thing for big fish still waters even though you pointed out the same use in rivers with heavy PTN’s the example. Strange things are people!

Excuse the crappy photo from my phone but I wanted to say thanks to colinc1978. His/your partridge and peacock has been a killing fly for me. I decided to give it a go three trips ago and it caught ¾ of the 10+ trout caught each time. As part of a team of three spiders (middle dropper) or on a single dropper above a weighted nymph it has caught repeatedly. Now that it has been chewed to bits it's time to retire it and I've tied a few of my own version but before it goes in my memorial box of great flies I wanted to say thanks for the great sport I've had on it

Thanks for the nice feedback. Glad it has done so well for you. Pleased that it has lasted well too. Nice to know they are durable.

Swaps are great for making you change things up a bit and sometimes it works for the better.
