    Default Queen of Spring.

Spring being just around the corner I thought I'd tie this although after last nights storm I should really have tied a Thunder & Lightning which would have been more in keeping I think. I have tied it once before so this is it's second appearance on a larger hook size 4/0. (hook is a Phillips Dublin Limerick by Byron Bjerke an American hook maker and classic fly tyer).

Tail - GP topping and Barred Wood Duck.
Tag - oval silver tinsel and yellow floss.
    Butt - Ostrich herl.
Body - half flat silver tinsel & half black floss.
Ribs - oval gold tinsel & flat silver tinsel.
    Hackle - black cock hackle.
    Throat - Jay.
Wings - GP tippets, Amherst Pheasant tail, GP tail, Goose dyed red, blue & yellow, Grey Mallard, Bronze Mallard with two GP toppings over.
    Sides - Jungle Cock.
Cheeks - Blue Chatterer (subbed with Kingfisher).
Horns - Blue & yellow Macaw.

    Thanks for looking.

    cheers

    Very nice Mark.
How about coming up with a fly called "GALE FORCE"?

Well up to spec, as usual Mark. Do you use a ringflash b.t.w ?

Thanks Ged yes that would be most appropriate to although I think my eyes are still recovering from looking out the window at around 3.00am and seeing a lighting flash the equivalent of a nuclear blast so it might even be called the 'Child of Hiroshima'.

Thanks John no it's just the reflection from my maglamp which is the only light source I use. I never use flash for pics at all but day light is improving now so might experiment more with some outdoor shots for some variation.

Another stunner Mark. One I haven't heard of before. Who is the pattern originator?
You must lose a fly to catch a trout. George Herbert

Thanks Alban. This is from Kelson and there's also a Queen of Autumn by him which I've also tied before and is a very similar dressing (ribbing slightly different, no GP tail in the wing and Teal added for sides) which makes me think it's basically the same fly with slight adaptations for autumnal conditions.
