I thought that too, but the skin doesn't look white to the throat?

Agree. The white definitely stops at the top of the breast, and doesn't extend up the throat.

The closest so far is the african emerald cuckoo.

Looking at images of one it is almost identical with the exception of the yellow belly.

Is it possible that the colour has gone on the belly over time, or is there another bird that is the same but with a white belly?

We're really close on this I think!

Any final thoughts on this? Do we think it's the african emerald cuckoo?

Also, I feel the beautiful feathers on this are wasted on a cack-handed tyer like myself! Is there a dealer that I should contact to see if they could make better use of it?
