Tried "Bulldog" clips, but do not hold the material well enough. I did however get 2 plastic clips that work very well from Orvis in Scotland last Christmas (2018) for 10 ?

I had the same issue as Eddie, the material slid out. I tried glueing thin strips of foam inside the jaws but that didn’t work out when I wanted to rearrange material along the jaws so I bit the bullet and bought two plastic clips for under a fiver.

Been there done that too...hence my op. I also tried reengineering bulldog clip by shortening spring so jaws stick out at the sides...ok but not good grip but you can just get by.

Some of the hangers supplied when you buy new trousers have strong plastic spring clips at each end often with a rubber grip. Snap the plastic hanger and slide the clips off...simples. They are good for sealing plastic bags etc. and might work for gripping cdc.

The best cdc tool by a mile, wouldn't part with mine. Might be a bit expensive but by the time you add up all the other cheap **** experiments you are trying to save money with you won't be far off the cost of this amazing bit of kit that was designed and built for the job.

I use a bulldog brand clip and it works fine right along its length.
If i did have any problems I'd try a piece of silicone tube with a slit so it can fit over the jaws.. Anyone tried it?

    Couldn’t agree more.
