    Default Body Stretch Ptn

This is a quick and easy nymph pattern to tie and its not a bad fish catcher either. I have no idea who first tied it, so if anyone can enlighten me I’d be much obliged.

    – Wet Fly Sz 14 - 22
    THREAD – Brown Benecchi 8/0
WEIGHT – Gold Tungsten Bead And Lead Wire
TAIL – Natural Pheasant Tail Fibers
    BODY – Brown Body Stretch
    THORAX – Hare’s Fur

    STEP 1
    Mount hook with bead.

    STEP 2
Add four or five wraps of lead wire and push under the bead.

    STEP 3

Catch in the thread and form a tapered body to meet the lead wire.

    STEP 4

Tie in three PT fibres and bring the thread back to the thorax area, trim the waste PT.

    STEP 5
Catch in the body stretch (I’ve use clear, coloured with a brown permanent marker) and while keeping it stretched run the thread down to the tail and back.

    STEP 6
Again keeping the body stretch stretched, wrap it up the body to the bead and tie in. Pull the body stretch back over its self and tie down, this will form the thorax cover.

    STEP 7
Dub on a large thorax, any thing could be used for the thorax, e.g. peacock herl, I've used hare's fur here.

    STEP 8
Pull the body stretch over to form the cover and tie down.

    STEP 9
Trim waste, whip finish and apply some varnish.

    STEP 10
Rough up the thorax area and with a permanent marker add a bit more colour and that as they say is that.

Nice fly, but try put less dubbing ( try mix brown squirrel and hare's ear) on thread and when is thorax done brush it and you will see different.
    Have a nice day
