Iíve been using something very similar to this pattern for a number of seasons now.It can be very effective.

I believe any ant imitation if the size is correct will make a hell when fished properly... i love fishing them. My best day was with ant size 24...

Where I live, locally the species I see most often are fiery ginger in colour and about a size 16/18. The patterns I use reflect this. However I recently had a memorable day where the fish were totally refusing my usual pattern and it wasn’t until I stepped up in size that they began to notice/take it.

Sometimes standing out from the crowd can work well across many different hatches and falls....particularly if they are heavy hatches.Cant always rely on this but it’s worth knowing as a tactical option.
