    Scotfly, you'd find that to be a VERY effective fly for winter/higher water steelhead fishing in the PNW.

    Doesn't surprise me Fred, I think I'm right in saying it has classic colour scheme for steelhead.

    Exactly: contrast in colours, bit of flash, and materials that would 'move' in water flow. The only thing I'd add would be an under-wrap of lead wire to help the fly sink faster in cold moving water flow.
