My six penn'orth:

Best writing:

Trout Underground

Best entertainment:

Moldy Chum

Best 'holistic' blog (ie rural life in general, not just fishing):

Caught by the River

Best Newcomer:

Gink & Gasoline

All are American, apart from Caught by the River but they're the ones I go to first. My favourite blog title - Yeah, We Fish Too!!, penned by a black guy in the States - has sadly been dormant since 2010.

I read some good fishing related articles on the forum; and buy books on fishing and other interests, But never read anyones Blog by choice! Unless someone sends me a link - then I might or maybe not? have a look at it? Not found one I'd return to though. The forum Community is enough for me to wade through.

There appears to be an awful lot of cack out there, but there is some quality if you delve a bit. These three feature excellent, original writing:

Idler's Quest

Mysteries Internal

A Flyfisherlady's Life

...but there are many more which are equally meritous. It's just a case of sifting through the borderline illiterate masses to find them!
