Default rod guide eyes.

Hi all,
I've got a greys rod which i bought of fleabay a while back.
The rod is in great condition however i've noticed that quite a few of the guide eyes on the rod has, what looks like epoxy spillage on the inside of the eyes is there a safe way of cleaning the eyes with out damaging the eyes?
Im worryed that this puts wear on my fly lines if i use this rod.

Many thanks,
Séan.

It's more likely that the line will wear the epoxy rather than the other way round. But if I was still worried, I would work carefully with a scalpel to remove it,staying away from the inner surface of the rings.

Thanks Jim, i will give it a go.
I was quite shock at this problem as its a greys rod, must have been a reject that someone had acquired. I can't imagine it been sold by a dealer.

It sticks in my craw to say this but''Made in the Far East.sold mail order'' lot's of anglers would never notice.

To true, i must say with all rods i ve bought or tried i look down the rod through the eyes and give a good wiggle. Just a habit. But with this rod it was so noticeable with the amount of epoxy in the eyes it was hard to miss.
