Default Orvis LA V Line Sizing

Anyone give me some advice as to whether the Orvis Battenkill LA V I have been offered would be suitable to be loaded with a WF7 line & used with a 10ft 7# rod, (Orvis Hydros), or is it a bit too large capacity? I see on some websites it is only suitable for 9 -11#.

Too big!

You need a IV, trust me I have one, casted it on a #7 9'6 Western 3 and perfect

Yep have to agree. The LA III or IV is what you need. I have a LAIV for my western 3 7wt and a LAIII on my Western 3 6wt. The LAIII is a bit smaller but if you want to use it it can hold 5,6 and 7wt lines.
The LAV is to big.

Ian
