Re: Pitsford
Ok so nobody replied to my inquiry but that's alright.
I fished today with a cold gusty wind but it was manageable.
Started at the yacht club and got bitten off on an orange blob ,must have been a pike.
Moved to the other side of the dam on the bubbles but nothing doing.
Tried yacht club bay and Brixworth bay but nothing doing.
Well I found fish on the gravels with Di 7 and blobs.
Tight little pockets of fish to 3 lbs.
Had loads of action once I found the retrieve.
Back again 2morrow for some more.Better a 'has been' than a 'never was' !

Re: Pitsford
Hi,
Fished there on Friday. The wind was a real pest and it was cold. It was like the North Sea going up the narrows to find shelter and cleaner water. Found fish in Sailing Club Bay, the Dam next to the sailing club, a big concentration of fish in the clean water in the west side of Brixworth Bay at the Three Trees and finally some desperadoes fought the waves at the Stone Barn and hit fish there - again, the main factor was the clarity of water there compared to many other parts which were very dirty. It may have settled down by now however. Best tactics were midge tip/buzzer tip lines and black flexy buzzers/ black thread buzzers with silver wire rib and orange cheeks/ olive buzzers with black thread rib and fluo yellow cheeks/ holo red diawl bachs/nemo with holo green head - some size 10 but predominantly size 12.
Hope this helps. The fish are stunning as you have already commented.
Cheers. Laverock.

Re: Pitsford
Ok i went back to Pitsford on the Sunday and what a difference 12 hrs made to the fishing.
On Saturday it was DI7 and blobs n boobies so I tackled with the same team.
Headed out to Stone Barn bay where i had found fish previously and had to change my line part way through the first drift , my partner had caught a fish and lost one.
He was fishing floater and buzzers.
First cast with my new team of size 12 black buzzers and a bow took it static while i was putting my fly box away.
Long story short I caught 14 and my partner had 13.
34 people fished the club comp and landed 204 fish.
Best 8 fish bag was 23lbs.Well done John
Cracking day out , get to Pitsford asap.Better a 'has been' than a 'never was' !
