Zip Front Waders - Redington Sonic Pro or Guideline Alta V2
I'm currently weighing up my next purchase of mid-priced zip front waders (current waders 50% Aquasure
) and have short listed these two models.
The redingtons got a pretty good review in the 'Eat, Sleep, Fish' ezine and at the moment I'm leaning towards them.
John Norris currently have the Guideline's on offer and although there were leaking issues with the previous model I'm assuming these have been ironed out with this latest, upgraded version.
Any experience with either waders or thoughts shared would be very welcome before parting with my hard earned cash.
PS, If anyone knows of a good source for the Redington's then please share...I've only found a couple of suppliers, one of which does not have them in stock. The Guideline waders are a fair bit cheaper and more readily available in the UK.
Mick.

Check out the USA suppliers(other than Cabelas who charge 40% shipping). You may find a good price and the shipping isn't too great. I had a wheel cover shipped and it was £10 cheaper than any I could buy of 'similar' quality here in the UK and the UK designs where rubbish in comparison. OK you may have a bit of VAT to pay but you have that here as well.

Re: Zip Front Waders - Redington Sonic Pro or Guideline Alta V2
I had thought about buying direct from the US but not having done it before I'm a little unsure as to how much import duty I'm going to have to pay, what seems like a bargain could end up no better than a UK purchase.
Having said that I have found a US retailer who currently have the Redington waders on offer (approx £200 + £20 carriage). Also available on Ebay at £233 approx from a US seller.
Would be good to hear from anyone with first hand experience of either of these waders.

One easy option from buying from US is to use Amazon.com. you prepay the tax and have reasonable shipping costs.
They do have a few different sets of redington zip fronts on there, haven't looked into whether they are cheaper.
I recently bought a fishfinder, which was nearly half price and arrived in 3days!SpottyHors Fly Fishers

Re: Zip Front Waders - Redington Sonic Pro or Guideline Alta V2
So far after a fair bit of googling...the cheapest I can get a pair of the Redington Sonic Pro Waders into the UK (including carriage and import duty) is around £255, which is considerably cheaper than the £299 the few retailers in the UK are selling them for.
Off to do some more googling!Last edited by sabsman; 19-09-2012 at 01:00 PM.
