Default Maxcatch v Qingdao Leichi Co. rod prices?

Looking at the "Maxcatch" and the "Qingdao Leichi" websites, as far as I can see they are one and the same. Same rods and the same pictures of each rod. The only difference seems to be the price.

For instance. The Maxcatch Skyhigh 6ft #2 nano is priced at $129.99, same rod bought from Qingdao Leichi costs $56. I guess there'll be P+P added to $56 price pushing it up further, but even so, there's still going to be a marked price difference between the two. Anyone confirm this, or am I missing something somewhere?

    Hiya

    Yes you are correct.
I got a price the other day for a 9ft #6 Nano for $88 and a shipping price of $40 as I also wanted a reel too....still very cheap and worth a punt.

The only thing missing is duty (over 130), vat and handling charges and a complete pain in the butt if there are any issues.

It would be interesting to know just how many of these "Chinese wonders" leave this factory embellished with logo's belonging to the more up-market brands we all know about. And, just how far up the market do they go. I've a sneaky feeling we might be surprised - or perhaps not.

I have bought rods from Maxcatch and Anglerdream. Both excellent rods with free delivery and no import charges were levied. As for problems The Maxcatch rod had a bad bit of stitching on the bottom of the bag. I stitched it in two minutes but just to see how the company handled complaints I emailed them enclosing a photo of the missing stitching. By return and on a Sunday morning I received a sincere apology and was told a new bag had been dispatched by airmail. It arrive the same week. How is that for service!
I predict that the UK brands selling tackle which they now source in China will soon be out of business. We the consumers can easily cut them out of the loop and I for one now do so. It serves them right for exporting jobs to China in the name of increased profit.
I think I'm gonna need a bigger rod.
