    Re Salford lakes,
Still going strong, a lovely place to spend a relaxing days fishing. A little off the beaten track to find at first, but well the effort. Very amiable owner, Two lovely well presented lakes with plenty of fighting fit trout, Brown,Rainbow and Blue . Plus a welcoming Pub in the village.

I've fished there lot's of times. A great fishery, especially early season though it does completely turn-off as soon as the weather and water temps rise mid to late summer. Plenty of natural fly life including a big mayfly hatch. The lower lake in particular can be a bit moody and gets the occasional blooms and sudden growths of weed making it difficult to fish. The 2 lakes have quite different characters so if one is off, then you often find the other is on. Possibly a tad pricey but a very picturesque fishery and they now offer C&R.

Can you imagine, there would have to be armed security while you fished and overnight so it wasn’t emptied
