The term 'hooked' in relation to smoking came from the Victorian habit of rubbing fishing flies in tobacco leaves, an early form of scented additive, it was believed that the fish, once accustomed to the smell, became addicted, hence, long before nicotine addiction was known, when someone was compelled to smoke too much they were referred to as 'hooked' like a fish.

    Absolutely 100% power bait works,
fishing with my boys the rainbows had the choice of power bait or worm/maggots i tied a dropper so they could always fish both, out of 32 fish landed 32 had taken the power bait, 1 had taken the maggot but was 1st hooked with the power bait.
I couldn't comment on soaking flies in it but the rainbow trout love it.
