Off to Draycote tomorrow. First time I have fished a reservoir from a boat this year. Not sure why - it has just worked out that way but I hope to get a few more days afloat before the end of the year.

Draycote promises a good day tomorrow. Daddies and top of the water sport.
    It's a paycheck, Jack.

how he may read upon the varying skies, from thence to judge the order of his flies,
how he may place them on his trailing link, know which should float,or which should partly sink

Another difficult day at Wharncliffe Reservoir (aren't they all?).
Fish sipping tiny flies from the surface film in the flat-calm and bright sunshine. I managed to catch 7, including a 3.5lb rainbow, on a size 22 Griffiths Gnat using a 3lb Middy, Lo-Viz tippet.

I fished there last week and had some good sport on traditional wets. I ended up with 14 fish in the boat plus many more chasing the bob fly up to the boat. Drifting around x,p and f buoys. The fly that did the best was a soldier palmer on the bob
