This is an easy one for me, Epic 476. I only started fishing with this rod at the start of this season and I'm using it whenever I can, it's a dry fly machine. It's incredibly accurate and very easy to cast at shorter river fishing distances but yet will put a good length of line out when needed. I love the smooth slowness of glass, it's a relaxing rod to cast, it just suits my casting style perfectly. As a bonus, glass is a lot of fun to play fish on and the blanks are gorgeous to look at too.
The Epic 476 is my favourite rod too, I've been fishing it 3 or 4 seasons now and seldom pick up anything else. We'll see how it copes with these fabled Farmoor fish shortly, but locally it's handled fish up to 10 1/2 lb with no problems. I'm currently having another one built on the new US produced glass, so it'll be interesting to see how it compares, a bit faster I'm told.

Atom Six 10ft 4wt Neutrino, bought as an ex demo on here, bit of an impulse buy as I fish mainly reservoirs so thought it would only see the occasional airing for dry fly but I like it so much itís now my go to rod for all floating line work

Vision Cult 9' #4 fished with an Antonio Perez WF4 silk line.
20 years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs. Now we have no Cash, no Hope and no Jobs. Please God, don't take Kevin Bacon.

All of my rods now are my favourites for the purpose I use them for.
But my current favourite style of fishing I do is from the banks of wild llyns and such like. That's when I use my AtomSix Neutrino 9ft #5. It's a cracking rod and I'd love to also own the same rod in a 10ft.

Either my Epic 476 Packlight or Loop Cross S1 9í 4wt. As the other lads have said the Epic is amazing for dry fly but Iím pretty sure the newer rods are made in Korea rather than CTS in New Zealand which seems a shame.

My favourite may change when I christen my new C. Barkley 72.

My Sage RPL+ 9ft #5 has landed me plenty of trout over the past 20 plus years. But if there is only light wind my Helios midflex 8ft 4in #3 is a joy.

How often AtomSix comes up. I bought a 6’6” 3# off here just to try as it’s too long and too heavy a weight for my smallies. A bit special at a sensible price.

Too early to say, but I’m looking at a Maxcatch 6’ 1#. It feels great playing even a small fish, can put out a lot of line when needed and seems to be robust. When I returned to fly fishing six years ago you could get up and running for fifty quid. It’s the same now but the quality has improved hugely.

I’ve been through quite a few of the small stream rods, Vision/Hardy/Orvis. They have nice, feel good stuff. But mostly made in China so it’s not a surprize you can get the same thing for peanuts is it?
    Growing old disgracefully!
