You unwind the cord, place the tool on the tip of the rod, use the rod to hook it onto the branch, pull the rod out, and then pull on the cord to bend the branch down. On the small stream I fish it could save me a fortune in lost flies Bffi 2019Bffi 2019Bffi 2019Bffi 2019

I remember Trout &Salmon mag giving those away years ago, £12, yikes.
Be careful of the rod tip.

Men and fish are alike, they both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

Went on the Sunday, which I heard was much less manic than Saturday. Excellent show, great demonstrations, tier's focus, and forums too. Stuart Croft in particular was very entertaining and very much the Yorkshire countryman. Springwatch and the like ought to consider employing him to bring his fascinating knowledge of aquatic bugs etc to the viewers' attention, he would make a great homespun ambassador for fly fishing too. I didn't go last year but the year before, and I thought BFFI2019 was much improved, all credit to Steve Cooper and his team. Happy to report I kept to my budget of £100 for new or replacement stuff!

Unfortunately the JC I managed to get now seems to be very expensive for only reasonable quality, other than that kept within budget.

Take care of the fish, and the fishing will take care of itself.

o_d, what do you make of the ANREX hooks?
I got the dry fly in 20s and 22s. They look a good solid hook.

First time I've bought them, do indeed look solid and they had sizes on their stand not currently available from UK stockists, so picked up some. Only tied one fly and yet to fish them!
