    Default ukflyfisher - Gareth Wilson AVOID AVOID AVOID

    I don't like to do this however I have told him it would happen if he couldn't rectify it. A word of warning to fellow anglers, do not order flies from Ukflyfisher aka Gareth Wilson An order was made on the 13th of February for flies which I have still not received. I have been constantly getting in touch with him through facebook and get a fed a different story. Finally reached the end of my tether and asked for a refund last week and was told it would be sorted as soon as he got on his "main pc" After still no sign of a refund I contacted him again to which I was informed he is now on holiday and i'll just have to wait until paypal sort it themselves because...get this....."he has no memory on his phone to download paypal to do it himself" Are you having a laugh.....so now after waiting over 100 days for flies to be delivered I now have to wait a further 30 days for paypal to issue a refund.

    Completely unacceptable way to run a business and I want to let you all know so you don't get involved either.

    The number of People / Firms to avoid is creeping up maybe another section should be added on the forum on who to avoid .

    Thank you for the warning, I to would like to see this more often, as some firms tend to ignore customers when they complain. This way may focus them !!!

    Why am I still reading threads about Gareth, this seems to be a recurring theme, there was another thread started recently which a moderator soon stopped any more replies to, explaining that the forum was not to be used to say such things and saying that Gareth was a busy man. SO WHAT. I also was in the same situation earlier in the year, excuse after excuse and only got my flies after over 2 months of waiting. I see that his UK flyfisher website is still saying that it is being updated. When it was taken down a few months ago he said he was taking on some flutters to help and it would be up the 1st of MAY. Still not up, In my eyes this is no way to run a business and although the flies are very good I would also avoid buying from him again, when I want flies I will use firms that supply when they say, usually within a few days. When I need flies to use at certain times of the year I do not expect them 2 months later. When the excuses come thick and fast about lack of time and too many orders I don't expect to see posts about how he has been fishing at numerous venues and having a great time. Can I now expect for this thread and comments to be blocked.

    I had this exact situation aswell. I ordered in January and was refunded in the March. I was polite throughout and gave him multiple chances but it got to a point where he was just straight up lying to me and then seemed put out when after 12 weeks I got sick and asked for a refund. He claimed to have sent the flies twice on royal mail signed for delivery but couldnt show me receipts or anything. Appalling service.

    I brought this thread to his attention on Facebook and this was his reply:

    I'm ok with bad feedback. It's why we are changing things going forwards. It's also why i recomend paypal as both parties are protected. The delay is not something I have hidden and any late orders are compensated. The quality of flies speak for themselves. I don't rush flies nor will I ever do that as I like to be known for a robust and quality product. I have apologised to the customer for the slower than normal delivery and he is being refunded. Not much more I can do unfortunately.

    I hope he comes on this forum to give his response directly to the complaints.

    He is a liar, i posted this on a facebook page I am in called "big rainbow hunter fly fishing team" and he asked me to post the messages he had sent me, some light reading for you if anyone is interested the page is public. His excuses change day by day and are completely pathetic. Still no refund.
